A 52 year old Indian tourist was injured after being assaulted by a group of transgender individuals following a dispute over payment near Walking Street in Pattaya early on 27th December 2025.
At around 5:30am, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation received a report that a foreign tourist had been attacked near the beachside entrance of Walking Street in South Pattaya. Police and rescue workers were sent to the scene.
Authorities found the man suffering from injuries to his face and the back of his head. Rescue personnel provided first aid before transferring him to hospital for further treatment. Some reports identified the victim as Raj Jasuja and said he was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital or Bhattamakun Hospital.
A witness, 19 year old Phongpon, also reported as Phongphon or Pongpol Boonchid, told police he saw the tourist arguing with several transgender individuals near the McDonald’s outlet close to the Walking Street entrance. He said the confrontation escalated after the group chased and surrounded the tourist, before allegedly assaulting him.
Preliminary police investigations indicate the incident stemmed from a dispute over incomplete payment. Reports described the disagreement as involving a failure to pay the full amount agreed for escort or sex services.
Police advised the injured tourist to complete his medical treatment before filing a formal complaint. Authorities said legal action would be taken against those involved once the victim is ready to proceed. The investigation remains ongoing.
Pattaya is a major seaside resort known for its nightlife and attracts millions of international visitors each year, including a growing number from India. Walking Street is one of the city’s most prominent entertainment areas and has long been associated with disputes linked to informal and illegal sex work.
Local media have previously reported that such confrontations often arise from payment disagreements, language barriers, and unclear expectations. Police maintain regular patrols in the area and continue to urge tourists to exercise caution and resolve disputes through lawful means.
