Philippine Airlines has been named the most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific region for 2025, recording an on-time arrival rate of 83.12%, the highest in the region.
The ranking was released by global aviation analytics firm Cirium as part of its annual On-Time Performance Review, which draws on independently verified data from millions of flights worldwide.
The result places Philippine Airlines at the top of one of the most operationally demanding aviation regions, where airlines regularly contend with weather disruptions, air traffic congestion, and airport capacity constraints.
Now in its 17th year, Cirium’s On-Time Performance programme is widely regarded as the industry benchmark for airline reliability, using transparent and objective methodologies. Cirium defines an on-time flight as one that arrives at the gate within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled arrival time. For 2025, the firm monitored 116,628 Philippine Airlines flights.
Philippine Airlines said punctuality remains a core commitment to passengers and credited close coordination across flight operations, engineering, airport services, ground handling, and customer-facing and corporate support teams for the achievement.
Lucio C. Tan III, President and Chief Operating Officer of PAL Holdings, said: “This achievement reflects the discipline, professionalism, and teamwork of our entire organization, particularly our frontline teams who operate our flights safely and reliably every day. It also reflects what can be achieved through strong collaboration with our private sector partners, including MacroAsia Corporation, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation, Aboitiz InfraCapital, and LIPAD Corp, as well as the continued support of our government partners.”
This is the first time Philippine Airlines has secured the regional title, surpassing previous leaders such as All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, and Singapore Airlines. Japan Airlines held the Asia-Pacific crown in 2024.
Philippine Airlines also led the region in monthly on-time performance during five months of 2025: April, August, September, October, and November.

Founded in 1941, Philippine Airlines is the oldest operating commercial airline in Asia and the national flag carrier of the Philippines. It operates the country’s only full-service network airline, with a fleet of Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland aircraft serving scheduled nonstop flights from hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao to 31 domestic and 39 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East. The airline also provides air cargo and charter services.
The carrier recently took delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, part of an order for nine aircraft to support long-haul expansion, particularly on North American routes. Further fleet growth includes 13 A321 aircraft expected in the coming years. Philippine Airlines currently holds an APEX Four Star rating.
